You pay for what services you want: All services are broken down and you choose your options.
There are hidden costs to us if you are using a credit card. Why someone who pays cash or by cheque should pay for your hidden credit card fees? We thus pass on to you the 2% fee.

Best scenarios for lowest prices:

Make your reservation early.
The larger your group is and the longer you stay, the cheaper it gets per person per day and charteringh our boat. It is also cheaper for the floatplane transporation.
Have flexibility for your dates to match floatplanes already chartered.

Floatplane:

We take care of all floatplane transportation for our guests
between Queen Charlotte City and Rose Harbour.

Also available between RH/Prince Rupert and RH/Port Hardy

How our floatplane prices are set up:
Our prices are designed to entice you to fly on certain days to minimize floatplane charters.
When we charter floatplanes and organize different groups, we must take in consideration the size of the floatplanes and the number of passengers. This is why we have a price list which reflects the different costs and possible combinations. A few basic rules apply:

The larger your group, usually the cheaper it is, depending on floatplane capacity.
The longer you stay at the guesthouse, the cheaper it is.
The more flexibility you have for your dates, the better.

Departure Time may change!
We have no control of possible unforeseen rescheduling by the floatplane airlines.

Bring all your gear in medium size bags the size of a large day pack or duffle bag on the floatplane. This will increase the load volume carrying capacity of the floatplane. Large suitcases are not recommended! The floatplane airline has a small storage room for things you don't need to take with you while in Rose Harbour.

Because of the unpredictable weather conditions on Haida Gwaii:
We highly recommend you to arrive on Haida Gwaii the day before you are scheduled to arrive in Rose Harbour. We also recommend you leave Haida Gwaii 24 hours after your scheduled time to leave Rose harbour. Jet planes, floatplanes and ferries sometime get delayed in the summer too. In the winter, it happens a lot!
Floatplanes do get rescheduled 1 or 2 times during the season due to weather conditions. Flight will be rescheduled by the airline according to their schedule and as soon as the weather allows.

If you get stuck because the floatplane cannot fly due to weather..

If you get stuck in Rose Harbour, you may need to rebook your transportation from Haida Gwaii to back home. We can do it for you from Rose Harbour. It will probably involve re-booking fees from the airline carrier.
If you miss your floatplane from Queen Charlotte City to Rose Harbour (DON'T!!!):

You probably will lose your deposit for our chartered floatplane flight you missed.
We will have to charter another floatplane and you probably will have to pay for the full cost of it.
This situation can cost you a lot of money.. Don't miss the floatplane!!!

Many factors like time of the year, existing floatplane schedule and the size of your group will affect the price. SEASON 2012

The floatplane airline offers 3 Beaver floatplanes based in Queen Charlotte village. We charter the floatplanes for our operation and will organize the transportation to and from our place. Your costs for your transportation depends on the number of people, your length of stay, your dates and the time of the year you wish to visit. For this reason, we can only tell you what these costs will be when you request a price quote with dates and number of people in your group. the more flexible you are with your dates, the better we can do for you!

Guided Boat Excursions and Transportation

All excursions are weather permitting!!!
We recommend guests to do the tours together to lower boat charter costs per person.
Small children (8 or less) count as 1/2 passengers for boat costs
Prices are based on a basic price for 1 or 2 passengers and an additional cost for extra passengers.

Ninstints (ancient totem poles): 5-6 hours Info
Guided tour of abandoned Haida village site (UNESCO World Heritage site). It has the largest number of ancient totem poles left on the Pacific coast in one location.
Includes wildlife sightseeing (seals and sea lions and many sea birds) on the west side of the island weather permitting.
Starts at $450.00 for 1 or 2 passengers.

Hotspring Island: 8-9 hours + Very dependant on sea conditions. Info
Includes sightseeing at Burnaby Narrows with tides permitting.

Boat time: About 4-5 hours from Rose Harbour return.
Starts at $800.00 for 1 or 2 passengers.

Cape St-James Area: 7-8 hours Very dependant on sea conditions. info
Hardly anyone ever goes there. It's wild, it's exposed, it's beautiful. About 3 hours from Rose Harbour return. We can't guarantee we will make it to the Kerouard Islands unless the sea conditions are relatively calm.
Our guide's favourite location! We stop to at least one beach along the way.
Starts at $600.00 for 1 or 2 passengers.

We know many great beaches, bird colonies and sea lion rookeries to explore. Great way to get lost and pretend to be Robinson Crusoe, Tarzan or Jane.

Popular locations:

Bowles Point, Not too far, 2 beaches to check out.

Rose Inlet: not far from Rose Harbour. Good chances to see a bear or 2. Fairly Easy walking along a creek where you can see lots of very large spruce trees.

Gordon Islands: Awesome place to spend the day. Lots of places and crevices to explore.

We offer optional transportation package including combined boat and floatplane transportation.
These transportation options are very much dependant on floatplane schedule AND WEATHER CONDITIONS. Our meeting location is usually Hotspring Island.
